Louisville Bats News Release

LOUISVILLE, KY. - Mike Freeman and Narciso Crook went deep in a four-run fifth inning and Reiver Sanmartin faced three above the minimum through his 6.0 innings of work to pilot the Louisville Bats to a 7-1 win over the Indianapolis Indians Wednesday night at Louisville Slugger Field.

Freeman and Crook homered on back-to-back to pitches in the bottom of the fourth with Freeman bringing home TJ Friedl and Alejo Lopez on a three-run shot that landed on the concourse. Crook followed with his second of three hits on the night with a solo shot that traveled 410 feet to cap the offensive eruption.

Crook has now hit safely in each of his 10 starts against the Indians this season and is batting .347 (25-for-72) in 27 career games against the Tribe.

Louisville starter Sanmartin followed a career-high 10 strikeouts in his most recent start with six more punchouts over his 6.0 frames. He retired the side in order during both the first and second frame but allowed a leadoff walk to come around and score on a wild pitch in the top of the third.

Following the run, Sanmartin struck out Diego Castillo and retired 10 of his final 11 batters to pick up his team-leading seventh win on the season.

Dauri Moreta worked a scoreless ninth to extend his streak of no earned runs to each of his first 20 Triple-A appearances.

The two teams will continue their six-game series Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Louisville Slugger Field. RHP Riley O'Brien (6-6, 4.36) gets the nod for the Bats vs. RHP Tanner Anderson (2-2, 4.00).
