
Fredricks' Two Assists Help Stingrays Defeat Everblades 3-1

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays (37-16-5-6) toppled the Florida Everblades (32-21-4-5) 3-1 in front of 6,088 on Military Appreciation Night at North Charleston Coliseum Friday evening. Stingrays rookie Jason Fredricks recorded two assists and forward Rob Ricci netted his fourth goal in two games in the victory.
The Stingrays opened the scoring just 27 seconds into the first period as Ricci deflected a shot from Fredricks over the glove of Everblades goaltender Chris Beckford-Tseu for his 23 goal of the season. Stingrays forward Jake Hauswirth made 2-0 off an Everblades turnover beating Beckford-Tseu low blocker-side at 14:53. Forward Scott Bartlett received the lone assist.
Stingrays forward Trent Campbell made it a three-goal lead at 18:03 of the second period from Fredricks. The Stingrays outshot the Everblades 12 to 5 in the middle frame.
Everblades forward Brandon Buck scored the only goal of the third period at 12:23 knocking in a loose puck under the right arm of Stingrays goaltender Todd Ford for his 14 tally of the season. Forwards Shea Guthrie and Ross Carlson earned assists. Ford earned his 18 victory of the campaign stopping 25 of 26 Everblades shots. Beckford-Tseu gets saddled with the loss kicking aside 26 of 29 Stingrays opportunities. The Stingrays ended the night 0-for-3 on the power play while the Everblades went 0-for-4.
The two teams square off again tomorrow, Saturday, March 13 at 5:00 p.m. at North Charleston Coliseum.
