Salmon Kings Sign Forward Jeff Lynch

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that they have signed forward Jeff Lynch for the remainder of the 2009-10 season.

The 24-year-old Lynch joins Victoria after competing in 28 games with the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds where he amassed 15 points (1g-14a) and 14 minutes in penalties. He also spent the previous three seasons in the CIS with UBC where he totaled 16 goals and 27 assists for 43 points with 82 penalty minutes in 79 games played.

The 6-0, 185 lb. forward spent five seasons with the WHL's Spokane Chiefs prior to going to school. In 313 career games in Spokane he scored 127 points (47g-80a) and served 356 minutes in penalties. Lynch also dressed for 25 WHL playoff games during his time as a Chief registering four points (1g-3a) and 20 penalty minutes.

Lynch will be in the lineup tonight as the Salmon Kings take on the Idaho Steelheads in the second game of a three-game set in Victoria.

The Salmon Kings and Steelheads continue their three-game set at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre tonight and Saturday with puck drop at 7:05 p.m. or both games. KOOL FM morning hosts Brian Bailey and Robin Farrell will be on hand tonight to give one fan a chance to take home $25,000 during a live edition of their popular "Beat the Bank" contest during the second intermission. Tomorrow night, the Salmon Kings and The Land Conservancy present the second annual Eco Night in an effort to promote ecological awareness.
