Johnstown Chiefs News Release

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - The Johnstown Chiefs announced today that they have traded two players to the Charlotte Checkers in exchange for future considerations. Heading south will be defenseman Trevor Hendrikx and forward Mike Bartlett.

Hendrikx led Chiefs defensemen in scoring with 25 points (6G, 19A) and in penalty minutes with 164 through 43 games. He has been particularly effective on the power play with 17 points (5G, 12A). The fourth-year pro was signed by the Chiefs on October 28, 2009.

Bartlett, in his second year with the Chiefs, has been in the American Hockey League with the Lake Eire Monsters since December 31, 2009. He had 25 points (10G, 15A) in 30 games with the Chiefs prior to his call up. With Lake Erie the 25-year-old winger has nine points (5G, 4A) and is a plus-7 in 30 games. Bartlett was not placed on Lake Erie's Clear Day List yesterday and can remain in the AHL with an emergency exemption.
