ESTERO, FL - South Carolina ended a three-game slide against Florida with a 3-1 victory in North Charleston Coliseum Friday night. Jake Hauswirth recorded the game winner and Todd Ford stopped 25 of 26 shots to pick up his 18th victory of the season.

South Carolina didn't take long to get their home crowd into the game on military night in North Charleston Coliseum. Just 27-seconds into the period, Jason Fredricks took a shot from the left point that was redirected from the right side of the net by Rob Ricci and into the Everblade net for a 1-0 Stingray lead. The goal was Ricci's 23rd of the season and Fredricks picked up his sixth assist for his sixth point of the season. The Stingrays extended their lead to 2-0 on Jake Hauswirth's 15th marker of the season. Hauswirth picked up a clearing attempt by the Everblades on the right circle and skated in and fired a hard wrist shot past Chris Beckford-Tseu. The goal came at the 14:53 mark of the period and South Carolina would keep that 2-0 lead heading to the locker room after 20 minutes of play.

A tight-checking second period of hockey saw just one goal between the two clubs. With under two minutes to go in the frame, leading scorer Trent Campbell fired in a wrist shot over the glove of Chris Beckford-Tseu for his 16th goal of the season and 58th point. Jason Fredricks recorded his second assist of the game and seventh point of the season. The Stingrays looking for their first win over Florida in four games took a 3-0 lead to the second intermission.

The Florida Everblades added the only goal of the third period as Brandon Buck took the goose egg off the scoreboard at the 12:23 mark to cut the Stingray lead to 3-1. Shea Guthrie worked a give-and-go with Buck who deposited the puck past Todd Ford, ending his shutout bid. Captain and leading scorer Ross Carlson picked up the second assist to record his 45th point this season.

The Everblades continue their three-game head to head set tomorrow in North Charleston Coliseum as the clubs face off at 5:00 p.m. The three-in-three series finishes off on Sunday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. All the action can be found on the Everblades flagship station, FOX Sports radio 1200/1460AM with the Shoeless Joe's Sports Cafe pregame show 25 minutes prior to the drop of the puck. Everblades hockey on Fox Sports Radio is brought to you Blu Sushi.
