ASHEVILLE, NC - The 2013 All-Star Game to be played in Lakewood, New Jersey, will feature four members of the Asheville Tourists. The Southern division's All-Stars face off against the Northern division's All-Stars to conclude the showcase festivities on Tuesday, June 18. Asheville's selections include Shortstop Rosell Herrera, Catcher Tom Murphy, and Outfielders Derek Jones and Francisco Sosa.

Herrera received the most votes among any players in the South Atlantic League and will be the starting Shortstop for the Southern division team. Heading into Asheville's four-game series verses the Rome Braves, Rosell ranks second in the League with a .343 batting average. The switch-hitting Shortstop has 10 Home Runs, 38 runs scored, 39 RBI's, 17 doubles, and 14 stolen bases. Herrera also leads the Tourists with 22 multi-hit games.

Jones, who has split time this season at the corner outfield spots and first base, will start in Right-Field for the Southern division All-Stars. Derek is batting .276 with 7 Home Runs and 27 RBI's. The former Washington State Cougar is second on the Tourists in doubles with 14 and has also stolen 10 bases.

Murphy joins the Southern division roster as the number two catcher. Tom missed a brief amount of time early in the season due to an injury, but has been a constant force in Asheville's line-up; primarily batting in the clean-up spot. Asheville's backstop has 10 Home Runs and 38 RBI's while hitting .408 in the month of April. Murphy won the South Atlantic League Player of the Week from April 29-May 5 and posted a 16-game hitting streak from April 8-May 9.

Sosa has been named a utility outfielder to the Southern division team. Francisco ranks sixth in the league in hitting with a .330 batting average and reached base in 25 straight games in the month of May. The Tourists outfielder has 10 Home Runs, 40 RBI's, and is second on the team with 16 steals.

"It is always a thrill when the All-Star roster is announced and to see members of the Asheville Tourists represented," said Tourists President Brian DeWine. "Rosell, Tom, Derek, and Francisco have not only performed on the field, but have been a great influence off the field in the Asheville community."
