
Six Power Players Bound For 2013 SAL All-Star Game

CHARLESTON, WV (June 4, 2013) - The West Virginia Power, a Class-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, will send six players to the South Atlantic League All-Star game in Lakewood, New Jersey. Stetson Allie, Josh Bell and Dilson Herrera have been selected as starters while Orlando Castro, Tyler Glasnow, and Walker Gourley have also been chosen to represent the Power in the June 18th mid-summer classic.
Allie will start at first base for the Northern Division. The first baseman is batting .340 for the Power and has played in 55 of West Virginia's 57 games this season. Allie has 16 home runs this season, tied for the most in all of minor league baseball. Allie also leads all of the South Atlantic League in runs batted in (54) and hits (72).
Bell has been selected as the starting right fielder for the Northern Division. The Pirates' 2011 2nd round selection is batting .272 for West Virginia. Bell ranks third in the South Atlantic League with 43 runs batted in and his 41 runs is the fifth best in the league.
Herrera, a second baseman with the Power, will start as shortstop for Northern Division. Herrera is batting .294 with five home runs and 27 runs batted in 47 games for West Virginia.
Castro is 6-3 this season with an ERA of 2.04. The left-hander has struck out 54 batters while walking a team-low five. His 61.2 innings pitched ranks second in the South Atlantic League.
Glasnow is 3-1 with an ERA of 3.21. The 19-year-old has struck out 72 batters this season, including a season-high 12 on May 23rd against the Lakewood BlueClaws.
Gourley is batting .325 with West Virginia and is listed as a reserve on the Northern Division's all-star roster. The North Carolina native has played in 21 games as an outfielder for the Power, and has also played 19 games at first base this season.
