LHP Josh Hader Named to 2013 SAL All-Star Game Roster

Salisbury, MD - The Delmarva Shorebirds, class "A" affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, are excited to announce that Shorebirds left-handed pitcher Josh Hader has been named a 2013 South Atlantic League All-Star. Hader will represent the Shorebirds in the mid-season classic on June 18 at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood, New Jersey.

Hader has made nine starts for the Shorebirds and is 1-2 with a 2.28 ERA. The Millersville, Maryland native has allowed two or fewer earned runs in seven of his nine starts this year. In 47.1 innings pitched, he has yielded just 34 hits and 12 runs. He sports a strong strikeout to walk ratio of 44 to 25.

Hader, the youngest player on the Shorebirds at 19-years old, ranks eighth in the South Atlantic League in ERA (2.28).

The Orioles 19th round draft pick in 2012 leads the Orioles farm system in ERA and opponents batting average (.205). Hader also ranks fifth in the system in WHIP (1.25).

In 76 career minor league innings, Hader has allowed only 46 hits. He has 92 strikeouts to 34 walks for his short minor league career.

Hader will pitch for the Northern Division All-Stars.
