PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence Bruins scored four times in the third period (including Seth Griffith's game-winner) to defeat the Bridgeport Sound Tigers 6-3 Friday evening at the Dunkin Donuts Center. Ryan Spooner had three points to lead all scorers, while both Griffith and Colin Stuart-- Spooner's linemates-- had multi-point games.

In the opening period, Brian Ferlin scored a power play goal. Ferlin launched one past Kevin Poulin at 2:11. The Sound Tigers tied the game courtesy of Matt Lashoff. At 5:08 of the frame, he put a high, tough-angle shot off of Malcolm Subban's glove and into the back of the net. Stuart gave the Bruins their second lead of the game with a slapper from the right wing circle at 13:11. While Bridgeport did not score on the power play all game, the team spent the first 1:38 of its first advantage in the zone before Providence could clear.

Bridgeport tied the game with the only goal in the second period, as Chris Langkow scored the fifth shorthanded goal against the P-Bruins all year. He intercepted a pass at the Providence line and moved from backhand to forehand before snapping a shot off.

Zach Trotman put Providence up for good on the man advantage at 5:23 of the third period, and the Bruins improved to 11-4-3-1 when tied through two periods.

Spooner assisted on the eventual game-winning goal with a swift move through the left wing circle, and Griffith put it past Poulin. Ben Sexton scored his first goal of the year by deflecting a Trotman shot. Rob Flick launched a bid off of Poulin that landed in the crease, then saucered into the cage at 15:41 to finish the Providence scoring.

C.J. Stretch scored the final goal of the game on a cross-ice one-timer, but in the final 2:45, Bridgeport was unable to light the lamp again.
