IceCaps and Purolator Help Shut out Hunger Again
February 13, 2015 - American Hockey League (AHL)
St. John's IceCaps News Release
The St. John's IceCaps will team up with Purolator for the second time this season for a Purolator Shut Out Hunger Food Drive.
The food drive, in its third season, supports the Community Food Sharing Association and will be held this Sunday afternoon (February 15th ) from 3-4 p.m., prior to the IceCaps game versus the Worcester Sharks.
Once again, IceCaps fans are encouraged to participate by bringing non-perishable food items to the Purolator volunteers stationed at the Mile One Centre entrances. In return, fans will be entered into a draw for a replica IceCaps jersey.
Additionally, each time an IceCaps player scores a goal, Purolator will donate 100 pounds of food towards the Purolator Shuts Out Hunger food drive.
The IceCaps and Purolator previously held a food drive on January 11th when the Lehigh Valley Phantoms visited Mile One Centre.
The Community Food Sharing Association and its 56 member agencies provided support to nearly 30,000 clients in need of food. All proceeds from the food drive will support the Community Food Sharing Association, which is fighting to end hunger by providing food and resources to those in need in throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.
