Springfield Falcons News Release

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons will be honoring breast cancer survivors during the Pink in the Rink game presented by Noble Hospital when the team hosts the Portland Pirates on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m.

Any breast cancer survivors that would like to be recognized on the ice before the Falcons Pink in the Rink game should contact Brynn Frazier at bfrazier@falconsahl.com. The Falcons will accept submissions until Feb. 19 at 5 p.m.

In addition, breast cancer survivor honorees can purchase discounted tickets through Noble Hospital at give.noblehospital.org/pinkintherink. For more information, contact the hospital's Community Development Office at info@noblehealth.org or (413) 568-2811, ext. 5520.

The Springfield Falcons Pink in the Rink game presented by Noble Hospital on Saturday, Feb. 21 is an annual event to help raise money and awareness for breast cancer research. Falcons players will wear pink specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off at www.ebay.com/usr/springfieldfalcons after the game. All funds raised will go towards Noble Hospital's breast cancer awareness programs to help local patients going through treatments.

Pink in the Rink will also feature special giveaways and raffles along with a Noble Hospital information booth. Pink bracelets and ribbons will be available for donations at the Noble Hospital table. The first 1,000 fans at the game will also receive pink thunder sticks.

Noble Hospital's Center for Comprehensive Breast Health encompasses aspects of women's health from mammograms and bone-density testing to lumpectomies and cancer treatments. The center features a complimentary-medicine therapy room offering massage, Reiki, and other alternative treatments for those going through cancer treatments and recovery. In a new partnership with the YMCA of Greater Westfield, the center also offers a healthy-living and exercise program.

In addition, Noble Hospital has a partnership with Hartford Hospital to treat early breast cancer quickly with a procedure called accelerated partial breast irradiation, which takes a period of five days instead of many weeks. Money raised at the Falcons fund-raiser may help patients in any of these programs receive the treatment they need but may not be able to afford.

Springfield Falcons ticket packages are on sale now. To reserve your seats, call (413) 739-GOAL (4625) or visit the team office inside the MassMutual Center Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For all the latest Falcons information and updates, follow the back-to-back Northeast Division Champions at www.falconsahl.com or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/falconsahl and on Twitter ( @TheFalconsAHL ) using #SPRFalcons!
