Oklahoma City Barons News Release
ROSEMONT, Ill. - Former Oklahoma City Barons forward Magnus Paajarvi scored the lone goal late in the third period for the Chicago Wolves, who downed the Barons 1-0 Friday night at Allstate Arena.
With 1:16 remaining in the third period of a scoreless game, Chicago's Ty Rattie picked up a loose puck off a blocked Adam Burish shot from the low slot and sent a turnaround pass to the right side of the Oklahoma City crease, where Paajarvi slid the puck past Barons goalie Laurent Brossoit.
In addition to the game being scoreless for more than 58 minutes, just a single penalty was assessed. At 10:54 of the third period, Chicago's Pat Cannone was whistled for holding the stick, giving the Barons the game's lone power play chance.
The loss was Oklahoma City's second shutout defeat of the season and the first 1-0 loss since Oct. 12, 2013 against Iowa.
Brossoit stopped 34 of 35 shots as his season record fell to 14-8-2.
Chicago goalie Jordan Binnington saved all 29 shots he faced to improve to 17-9-3.
Oklahoma City next travels to Rockford, Ill., where they face the Rockford IceHogs in a 7 p.m. start on Saturday, Feb. 14 at BMO Harris Bank Center.
