SERIES AT A GLANCE: The Flying Squirrels are seeking their second straight victory tonight when the square off against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in game two of a three-game series at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. Richmond got a solo home run from second baseman Ryan Cavan in the top of the third inning, which proved to be just enough offense in a 1-0 triumph over the Fisher Cats in the series opener last night. Cavan and third baseman Daniel Mayora had the only hits of the ballgame for the Flying Squirrels. Richmond's duo of starter Craig Westcott and reliever Tom Vessella topped New Hampshire's pitching combo of starter Joel Carreno and reliever Scott Gracey in a pitchers' duel. Carreno (1-3) allowed just two hits and one earned run to go along with six strikeouts in seven innings pitched. Vessella worked a scoreless ninth inning to pick up his second save.
