March 18, 2011 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Rochester Americans News Release
(Rochester, NY)... Florida Panthers General Manager Dale Tallonannounced today that the club has reassigned forward Michael Duco to the Rochester Americans.
Duco, 23, returns to the Amerks following a four-day stint with the Panthers after earning his first promotion to the big club this season on March 14th. A third-year pro, Duco appeared in two games with the Panthers, recording 10 penalty minutes while averaging 8:23 of ice time, including more than 10 minutes of action in Florida's 4-0 home win over the Toronto Maple Leafs last night. The Toronto, Ontario, native has skated in 12 career National Hockey League games, all with Florida, registering 60 penalty minutes.
Signed by the Panthers as a free agent prior to the 2007-08 season, the 5-foot-10, 194-pound Duco returns to Rochester as the team's leading goal-scorer with a career-high 18 goals this season, including a team-high 11 power-play tallies. He currently ranks sixth on the team with 28 points (18+10) and has already matched his career-high in that category he set back during the 2008-09 campaign as a rookie.
Duco and the Amerks return to the ice on Saturday, March 19th as they take on the Grand Rapids Griffins at 7:00 p.m. at Van Andel Arena. Fans can tune into all the live action on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK and FM 107.3, Rochester's Sports Talk.
