
Falcons Host Bears Tonight

The Springfield Falcons and Hershey Bears conclude their season series tonight when the Falcons host the Bears at the MassMutual Center starting at 7:30 pm. The Falcons lost to the Bears back on January 27 by a score of 4-3. Former Bears forward Kyle Wilson scored for the Falcons in the first meeting, as well as John Moore.
The Falcons are 3-1 against the Bears on home ice over the last five seasons, and overall Springfield has collected a win in five of the last nine meetings with Hershey.
The Falcons start a busy weekend of three games in three days as they host Hershey tonight, head to Binghamton, NY on Saturday, followed by a Sunday matinee against Connecticut.
A PAIR JOIN THE FALCONS
The Springfield Falcons announced Thursday they have signed forward Aaron Bogosian to an Amateur Tryout Agreement.
The 6-foot, 190-pound native of Massena, NY recently completed his senior season at St. Lawrence University where he was team captain and posted a career high 14 goals, 14 assists and 28 points in 35 games. Bogosian spent four seasons at St. Lawrence where he totaled 33 goals and 46 assists for 79 points in 142 career games.
The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed defenseman Anton Blomqvist to a standard three-year entry level contract, Blue Jackets Executive Vice President and General Manager Scott Howson announced March 17.
Blomqvist, who turned 21 on March 7, registered two assists and 36 penalty minutes in 35 games with the Malmo Redhawks of the Swedish Allsvenskan League. The Kristianstad, Sweden native was the Blue Jackets' fifth pick, 167th overall, in the 2009 Entry Draft. He has recorded 3-3-6 and 69 penalty minutes in 76 games with Malmo (Sweden) and 0-4-4 and 20 penalty minutes in 21 games with Malmo (Sweden-2).
