Blues Assign Oystrick to Peoria

St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has activated defenseman Tyson Strachan from Injured Reserve. In addition, the club assigned defenseman Nathan Oystrick to the Blues' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen.

Oystrick, 28, has appeared in 56 games for the Rivermen this season ranking third on the team with 41 points including 13 goals and 28 assists. He appeared in two games with the Blues during his most recent recall and scored the Note's lone goal in Wednesday's 2-1 loss to Anaheim. Overall on the season, he has three points (one goal, two assists) in nine games with St. Louis.

The Regina, Saskatchewan native was signed by the Blues as a free agent on July 12, 2010. He is currently serving a six-game suspension in the AHL that has him eligible to return to play on April 2 in San Antonio.

Strachan, 26, has appeared in 28 games for the Blues this season recording an assist and serving 34 penalty minutes. The Melfort, Saskatchewan native was signed by the Blues as a free agent on October 9, 2008.
