Atlanta Assigns Klingberg to Chicago

The Atlanta Thrashers have assigned left wing CARL KLINGBERG to the Chicago Wolves.

KLINGBERG, who was Atlanta's second choice, 34th overall, in the 2009 National Hockey League Entry Draft, tallied eight points (5G, 3A) in 49 games with the Swedish Elite League's Vastra Frolunda and Timra IK this season. He also recorded four points (3G, A) in six games to help Sweden to a fourth place finish at the 2011 IIHF World Junior Championships.

Last season, the 20-year-old forward set professional career highs with six goals, seven assists and 13 points in 42 games with Vastra Frolunda. He also dished out five assists in four Sweden First Division contests with Boras. The Gothenburg, Sweden, native also potted one goal in five games to help his country capture the Bronze medal at the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championships.

Overall, KLINGBERG has registered 13 goals, 11 assists and 24 points in 101 career Swedish Elite League matchups with Vastra Frolunda and Timra IK, and recorded seven assists and 11 points in 12 career games with Boras, spanning two seasons (2008-10).
