
Goaltender Jaroslav Janus Re-Joins Admirals

TAMPA BAY, Fla. - The Tampa Bay Lightning, NHL parent club of the Norfolk Admirals, have reassigned goaltender Jaroslav Janus (YAHR-oh-slahv YAHN-ihs) to the Admirals from the ECHL's Florida Everblades, Lightning Vice President and General Manager Steve Yzerman announced today.
Janus, 6-foot-1, 189-pounds, has appeared in two games with the Admirals this season, going 0-2-0 with a 5.45 goals-against average and .831 save percentage. He has posted an 11-13-0-0 record in 26 games with the Everblades this season with a 3.06 goals-against average and .911 save percentage.
Janus, a 21-year-old native of Presov, Slovakia, appeared in 13 games for the Admirals last season, posting a 7-6-0 record with one shutout, a 2.07 GAA and .922 save percentage. He led Norfolk in goals-against average and save percentage in his first season of professional hockey.
Janus played in 110 career OHL games with the Erie Otters, posting a 45-53-7 record with a 3.69 GAA. At the 2009 World Junior Championships with Team Slovakia, Janus posted a 3-4-0 record with a 3.20 GAA and a .932 save percentage in seven games. He was named the tournament's top goaltender by attending media. Tampa Bay drafted Janus in the sixth round (162nd overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
The Admirals host the Albany Devils on tonight and tomorrow night at Scope. Tonight's game begins at 7:30 p.m. while tomorrow's contest starts at 7:15 p.m.
Tonight is Team Poster Giveaway Night, presented by Supercuts. The first 2,500 fans through the gates will receive an Admirals team poster courtesy of Supercuts.
Tonight is also Cheesy Noisemaker Night to benefit Wave City Care. Fans are encouraged to bring boxes of non-perishable food, such as macaroni and cheese, to the game. During the game, use the food as a noisemaker. After the game, drop your food in the designated locations throughout the arena and it will be donated by Wave City Care to those in need in Hampton Roads.
Saturday night marks the eleventh annual Admirals MDA Jersey Auction, Presented by PAPCO. The Admirals will don one-of-a-kind jerseys during the game. Immediately following the game, a live auction will take place on the ice with the jerseys being auctioned right off the players' backs. Proceeds benefit the Hampton Roads Muscular Dystrophy Association. Fans can also help the local MDA by purchasing $10 tickets for Saturday night's game through the Admirals' website at norfolkadmirals.com. Ticket purchases must be completed by 5:00 p.m. today.
