Flames Return Loyns To Omaha

Omaha, NE - The Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights announced today that the Calgary Flames, their National Hockey League affiliate, have returned left wing Lynn Loyns on loan to Omaha. He will join the Knights for their game against the Houston Aeros in Houston tonight at 7:00 p.m.

Loyns played in one game during his recall to Calgary. In 64 games with the Knights this season, he has earned 17 points (9 goals, 8 assists) and 50 penalty minutes. In 33 NHL career games with Calgary and the San Jose Sharks, Loyns has five points and 21 penalty minutes.

The 5'11" 205 lbs. forward played four seasons in the Western Hockey League with Spokane, posting 185 points (72 goals, 113 assists) and 179 penalty minutes in 258 games. The Flames acquired Loyns from San Jose on January 9, 2004 for a fifth round choice in the 2004 Entry Draft.

Following tonight's game, the Knights will play in Houston again on Friday at 7:35 p.m. before finishing the regular season in San Antonio on Saturday and Sunday.
