
Fisher Cats Hit Three Homers in 11-6 Win at Richmond

(Richmond, VA)---The Fisher Cats hit three home runs in the first three innings and Randy Boone won for the first time since May 22 as New Hampshire opened a road trip with an 11-6 win in Richmond on Tuesday night.
Boone (3-8) worked six innings, allowing four runs on five hits in the first two innings, but settled down from there allowing only one hit the rest of his outing.
Trystan Magnuson and Ronald Uviedo finished up. Magnuson worked two scoreless innings before the Flying Squirrels (56-59) plated two in the bottom of the ninth against Uviedo.
It was a great start to the game for the Fisher Cats (68-48). After a lead-off walk to Darin Mastroianni, Adeiny Hechavarria ripped his second home run of the season to make it 2-0. Eric Thames doubled and scored on a home run by David Cooper to make it 4-0. Cooper went 2-for-4 with a home run, 3 RBI and two runs scored in the game.
The Flying Squirrels picked up one run with two outs in the bottom of the first inning. Thomas Neal doubled and scored on a single by Brandon Belt.
Richmond tied the game in the bottom of the second inning. Sharlon Schoop and Tyler LaTorre started the frame against Boone with singles. Clay Timpner tripled to make it 4-3 and when Brad Boyer reached on an error, Timpner scored to make it 4-4.
New Hampshire moved back in front for good in the top of the third inning. Hechavarria walked, Thames doubled for the second time, plating Hechavarria, and Shawn Bowman homered to put the Fisher Cats up 7-4.
The Fisher Cats extended the lead in the top of the eighth inning. Adam Loewen doubled, Cooper walked and after Jonathan Jaspe bunted the runners up, Jonathan Diaz ripped a two-RBI double.
New Hampshire also scored two runs in the top of the ninth inning on RBI singles by Cooper and Jaspe.
The Fisher Cats continue the three-game series in Richmond on Wednesday night at 7:05pm. New Hampshire is scheduled to start RHP Rey Gonzalez (2-3, 7.49) against Flying Squirrels' RHP Mike MacDonald (4-7, 4.29).
