
Fisher Cats Announce 2011 Schedule

Manchester, NH- The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, today announced their schedule at Merchantsauto.com Stadium for the 2011 season. Opening Day is scheduled for Thursday, April 7, at 6:35pm when the Fisher Cats will host the Trenton Thunder, Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees. The 2011 season is made up of 71 home games in total, including 24 post-game Atlas Firework Shows.
"It is exciting for both our fans and staff alike to get to look ahead at the upcoming season," said Fisher Cats President Rick Brenner. "This year especially with the Eastern League All-Star Game coming back to Manchester, we are already busy planning ways to give our fans the best entertainment experience each time they enter the ballpark."
The Portland Sea Dogs, Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, will come to Manchester 14 times, with the first series between these Eastern Division rivals scheduled for Monday, May 9 through Wednesday, May 11. The Fisher Cats will face the Trenton Thunder (New York Yankees) seven times including the home opener. New Hampshire will also face the Binghamton Mets (New York Mets) nine times, the New Britain Rock Cats (Minnesota Twins) 12 times and the Reading Phillies (Philadelphia Phillies) 10 times.
In the Western Division, the Fisher Cats will play Harrisburg Senators (Washington Nationals) 4 games in the Granite State. The Akron Aeros (Cleveland Indians), the Bowie Baysox (Baltimore Orioles), the Atloona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) and the Richmond Flying Squirrels (San Francisco Giants) will each play one 3-game series at Merchantsauto.com Stadium.
Fisher Cats will play all Saturday and Sunday games in April and early May at 1:35pm. Beginning May 28th, the remainder of the Saturday games will be played at the traditional 7:05pm start time. Weeknight games will start at 6:35pm until Tuesday, May 17, when they become 7:05pm.
A few exceptions, the Fisher Cats will celebrate Memorial Day Monday, May 30 with a 1:35pm game against the New Britain Rock Cats. There will also be two Educational Days scheduled for Wednesday, May 11 and Thursday, May 19 at 11:05am. In July the Fisher Cats will play Portland Sunday, July 10 at 6:35pm. Camp Days/Splash Days are scheduled for 12:05pm Monday, July 11 and Wednesday, August 10 at 12:05pm.
