Harrisburg Senators News Release

The Binghamton Mets scored four runs in the first inning, and went on to defeat the Harrisburg Senators on Tuesday evening at Metro Bank Park, by a final score of 7-1.  With the loss, the Senators (61-55) remain 2.5 games back of Bowie for the second playoff spot in the Eastern League's Western Division.  Binghamton improves to 56-60 with the win.  Mark Cohoon (2-3) was outstanding for Binghamton, allowing just one run on three hits in his seven innings of work as the starter.  Brad Peacock (1-1) took the loss for the Senators, as he gave up seven runs in four and a third innings.

The B-Mets scored four runs in the first inning off of Peacock, getting a three-run home run by Josh Satin to cap off the inning.  A solo shot from Sean Ratliff in the third made it 5-0, before the Senators scored their lone run in the bottom of the inning on a leadoff homer from Edgardo Baez.  It was the third home run of the season for Baez.  Binghamton scored single runs in the fourth and fifth inning to complete the scoring.

Former Major Leaguer Orlando Hernandez made his debut for the Senators in relief of Peacock, and gave up just a hit and a walk, with no runs, in two and a third innings of work.  Hassan Pena also threw two and a third scoreless innings for the Sens.  Baez had two of the five hits for the Senators, as he added a fifth-inning single to his home run.  The other three hits came from Jhonatan Solano, Jesus Valdez, and newcomer Stephen Lombardozzi.  Lombardozzi was making his AA debut.  Ratliff, Zach Lutz, Mike Nickeas, and Brahiam Maldonado each had two hits in the win for Binghamton.

Game two of the three-game series is at 12 PM on Wednesday, with LHP Tom Milone (8-5, 2.97) going for the Senators in the noon start.  Right-hander Chris Schwinden (4-7, 5.68) starts for the B-Mets.  Radio coverage begins with the pregame show at 11:45 AM, and airs on 1460 AM The Ticket and www.senatorsbaseball.com.
