WINNIPEG - With North Division opponents floundering and the Goldeyes posting a 4-2 record on their most recent road trip, Winnipeg has the chance to grab the top spot in the division during a home stand beginning Friday against Lincoln.
In A Groove: After inconsistent play earlier this season, the Goldeyes have turned things on and gone 7-3 in the last 10 games. They are now just half a game behind St. Paul for top spot in the division and have every chance to grab a series win against the 20-20 Lincoln Saltdogs.
ALS Awareness Night: Friday night features a re-enactment of the famous farewell speech by Lou Gehrig. Gehrig was a baseball icon and his name has become synonymous with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). The night also features Student Night at the Ballpark where every university or college student can get a free hot dog and a chance to win free tuition for a year by just showing their valid student ID. It's also Fly Away Friday, where one fan will win return airfare to a great destination. Finally, it's Pancake Batter Friday where every fan in attendance could walk away with free pancakes if a designated batter strikes out.
Charity Turkey Burger BBQ: Before the game Saturday night, head out to the Promenade where you can get a turkey burger with all the fixings and a pop for just $5. Net proceeds from the barbeque go to the Goldeyes Field of Dreams Foundation.
Nine-Inning Turkey Giveaway: Granny's Poultry will be giving away a turkey between every inning during Saturday's game. To enter to win, fans simply have to purchase a Fish Lines scorecard, a souvenir game program, or find other lucky ways to win, which will be announced at the game.
First Half Team Autograph Session: Every fan at Sunday afternoon's game will receive a first half team photo. Before the game, the Goldeyes will be on the field to autograph them! It's also Family Fun Day, with Wonder Show Carnival Games and Plunger Pool on the Promenade pre-game. Kids can also run the bases and get a coupon for free mini-donuts after the game!
