Shreveport-Bossier Captains News Release

AMARILLO, Tx.---Shreveport-Bossier overcame an early four-run deficit to tie the Sox at eight going into the ninth inning at National Bank Sox Stadium and would pull away with eight runs in the top of the ninth to defeat Amarillo 16-8 in the first game of a three game series.

Captains catcher Brian Peterson had five RBIs on the night including a bases loaded triple in the ninth and Mike Provencher scored five runs, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases. Peterson was 2-for-4 with a double and a walk as well. Centerfielder Robert Perry would add three RBIs and hit his second home run of the year, a two-run blast in the seventh inning to cut the Amarillo lead to 7-6.
