
FC Dallas Announces End of Year Awards in Club's 25th MLS Season

FRISCO, Texas - FC Dallas announced today its 2020 Team Awards presented by Toyota.

Most Valuable Player - Bryan Reynolds
FC Dallas Homegrown Bryan Reynolds stepped up as the starting right back following the departure of Reggie Cannon to Boavista. He started in 14 of the club's 22 regular season games and led the FC Dallas Homegrowns in minutes played (1,267). He recorded three assists while also being a key member of the backline that earned the second-best defensive record in the West.
Defensive Player of the Year - Bryan Reynolds
Bryan Reynolds contributed to four shutouts, averaged 1.6 tackles per game as well as 1.4 clearances per game. While Dallas' backline had a great season as a whole, Reynolds' outstanding form over the latter half of the year earns him Defensive Player of the Year.
Offensive Player of the Year - Franco Jara
Forward Franco Jara is this year's Offensive Player of the Year. Jara joined Dallas in the summer after five prolific seasons in Liga MX and finished as the club's top scorer. The 32-year-old notched seven goals in 16 MLS starts over his maiden season and also led the team in shots per game (1.6), as well as creating three goals-scoring chances for his teammates.
Breakout Player of the Year - Bryan Reynolds
Reynold's claims his third accolade with the Breakout Player of the Year award. Prior to the 2020 season, Reynolds had just 112 career MLS minutes but settled into a starting role midway through this year's campaign and became both a both a defensive and offensive asset on the right flank.
Goal of the Year - Andrés Ricaurte vs. Houston Dynamo (Sept. 12, 2020)
Andrés Ricaurte's strike vs. rivals Houston Dynamo is the FC Dallas goal of the season and came just a month after the Colombian joined FCD on loan from Independiente MedellÃÂn. The 28-year-old latched onto a headed clearance and announced himself with an audacious first-time volley into the far corner of Houston's net.
Assist of the Year - Andrés Ricaurte vs. Houston Dynamo (Oct. 31, 2020)
Andrés Ricaurte also earns the assist of the season with his inch-perfect pass to forward Fafa Picault in the fourth and final Texas Derby of 2020. Ricaurte registered one goal and two assists in 13 starts on the year.
