
Explorers win 6-5

Sioux City-----Mike Bisenius's two-out, two-run double in the seventh inning gave the Explorers a 6-5 win over Gary SouthShore here Thursday. Bisenius came into the game in the third inning replacing Brandon Newton was the other Sioux City player with more than one hit. His two-run double in the seventh inning drove home Ryan Priddy and Mike Murphy that gave the Explorers the lead for good. Aaron Correa, in relief picked up his first win of the season while Chris Bodishbaugh pitched the ninth inning to record his 15th save of the year. The Explorers by winning took two of three in the series with Gary and on the season finished 5-5 against the RailCats. The win also moved the Explorers into third place in the Central Division of the American Association, one half game ahead of Gary. The Explorers took a 2-0 lead in the first inningh on a RBI double by Peter Barrows who extended his hitting streak to nine games and a sacrifice fly RBI by Kris Sanchez. Gary scored one run in the second inning and then took the lead 3-2 by scoring two runs in the third. The Explorers would regain the lead 4-3 with two runs in the fourth inning, scoring one run on a wild pitch by losing hurler Morgan Coombs and added the go-ahead run on a single by Ryan Priddy. However, Gary tied the game in the fifth at 4-4 and then took the lead in the top of the sixth inning 5-4. The Explorers would then take the lead for good in the seventh on the two-run double by Bisenius. The Explorers will now start a three-game series with Winnipeg with a single game Friday at 7:05.
