Everblades Shut out Ice Pilots 2-0

April 1, 2008 - ECHL (ECHL)
Pensacola Ice Pilots News Release

ESTERO, FL - Adam Taylor and Preston Callandar scored goals and Kevin Nastiuk stopped all 24 shots as the Florida Everblades defeated Ice Pilots 2-0 on Tuesday night at Germain Arena.

It was a non-eventful first period as both teams played patient hockey registering just 11 shots between them for a scoreless opening 20 minutes. It was the fifth straight Ice Pilots game that neither team has scored in the first period. The Ice Pilots were 3-0-1 in the previous four.

Taylor opened the scoring as he snuck a sharp angle shot past Mike Brodeur to give the Everblades a 1-0 lead at 6:50. Florida would find some insurance in the third as Callandar fired in a loose puck in a scramble to make it 2-0 Everblades as they would hang on for the victory.

The Pilots return home and will close out the 2007-08 season with back-to-back games against the Mississippi Sea Wolves beginning on Friday in Biloxi and on Saturday at the Hangar for Fan Appreciation Night.

Don't miss the hard hitting, exciting action, as the Ice Pilots' next home game is Saturday, April 5 at 7:05 p.m. vs. the Mississippi Sea Wolves at the Civic Center. It is the final game of the 2007-08 regular season and it's Fan Appreciation Night! Group Tickets and Military Packages are still available through the Ice Pilots office.
