Johnstown's Rowe Named In Glas Co Player Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Johnstown left wing Randy Rowe is the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for Mar. 24-30.

The 6-foot and 195-pound Rowe had six assists and eight points to help the Chiefs go 3-0-0 and clinch a Kelly Cup Playoff spot for the third straight year.

After scoring his first shorthand goal of the season and adding an assist in a 3-1 win at Wheeling on Mar. 28, the 27 year old had back-to-back three point nights with a goal and two assists in a 6-3 win over North Division leader Cincinnati on Mar. 29 and three assists in a 5-0 win against Trenton on Mar. 30.

The Burford, Ontario native has a four-game point streak (2g-8a) and leads the Chiefs with 43 assists and 67 points in 56 games. He tied for second on the Chiefs in 2006-07 with 38 points (15g-23a) in 34 games while also playing in the American Hockey League where he had three points (2g-1a) in 17 games with Springfield.

Rowe has played in the ECHL each of his first six seasons and has 284 points (136g-148a) in 327 regular season games and five points (3g-2a) in 14 games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs with Johnstown and Peoria.

On behalf of Randy Rowe, a case of pucks will be donated to a Johnstown area youth hockey organization by In Glas Co, the exclusive puck supplier for the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, In Glas Co has donated more than 19,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
