ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...

Tonight, the SeaWolves look to make it two straight wins as they take the field in the second game of a four-game series against the Trenton Thunder (New York Yankees) at Jerry Uht Park. Last night, the ‘Wolves fell behind early 3-0 but battled back to beat Trenton 5-3, snapping the clubs season-long seven-game losing streak. The win improved the SeaWolves to 15-9 in series openers...Erie enters tonight's game in fourth place in the EL South, 10.5 games behind first place Akron, 3.5 games behind second place Reading and one game behind third place Bowie...Trenton is in third place in the EL North, six games out of first and 2.5 games out of second...The SeaWolves are 9-4 against Northern Division opponents. Erie will play 41 games against the EL North in 2009. The ‘Wolves are in a stretch of 24 consecutive games against teams at or below .500. Erie is also in a stretch of seven straight against teams from the EL North (4 vs. TRE, 3 at BING)...Lefty Jon Kibler makes his 15th start for the ‘Wolves and his first against the Thunder. Kibler was a tough luck loser in his last start at Harrisburg. In the game, he went 6.1 innings, allowing three runs, one earned, on eight hits with a walk and no strikeouts. Kibler has gone at least six innings in each of his last four starts and is 1-2 with a no-decision in those starts...Righty Zach McAllister takes the mound for Trenton. McAllister is the Eastern League leader with a 1.76 ERA. He is making his 14th start of the season. His last start was cut short by rain. McAllister is 0-1 with two no-decisions in his last three starts. He is 1-1 with two no-decisions in four starts against Southern Division opponents.
