
Three Curve Players Named to All-Star Roster

ALTOONA, Pa - The Eastern League today announced that three Altoona Curve players have been selected to the Eastern League All Star squad. LHP Daniel Moskos, SS Brian Friday and OF/1B Jason Delaney were all selected to the E.L. Southern Division team. The trio will represent the Curve and the city of Altoona at the league's mid-summer classic that will be held at Waterfront Park in Trenton, New Jersey on July 15.
Moskos, 23, the Pirates' first round draft choice in 2007 out of Clemson University, has had a breakthrough year, spending the entire campaign with the Curve. The southpaw is currently 4-6 with a 3.98 ERA in 15 games (14 starts). The southpaw has been one of Altoona's most consistent starters, pitching at least 5.0 innings or more in his last 13 consecutive starts. Moskos is ranked by Baseball America as the 19th best prospect in the Pirates' system.
Friday, 23, was the Pirates third round draft choice in 2007 out of Rice University. Ranked by Baseball America as the 14th best prospect in the Pittsburgh farm system, Friday is currently hitting .259 with five homers at 17 RBIs.
Delaney, 26, began the season with Indianapolis (AAA) but then came to the Altoona Curve on April 14. Delaney, Pittsburgh's 12th round selection in the June 2005 draft out of Boston College is currently is coming off a solid month of June where he drove in 16 runs while batting .286.

Each roster consists of 24 players, including at least three players from each of the Eastern League's 12 teams. At least one position player, and one pitcher, who were selected by fans of each team through online and stadium balloting, represent every team. The remaining selections were made through voting by league media, managers and officials.
