ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...

Tonight, the SeaWolves look for seven straight wins as they open up a six-game homestand and a three-game series against the New Britain Rock Cats (Minnesota Twins) at Jerry Uht Park. Tonight marks the first time Erie will face New Britain. The two clubs will meet six times in a span of 10 days with Erie heading to New Britain next week. The ‘Wolves are the hottest team in the Eastern League winning nine of their last 10 and 11 of their last 13 games. The six-game winning streak is also the longest current winning streak in the league...The Rock Cats enter tonight's game in last place in the Northern Division, 24 games out of first place. They are 5-5 in the last 10 and are 21-38 on the road this season...Righty Luis Marte takes the mound tonight for the SeaWolves making his seventh start in Double-A and his 14th start overall (seven with Class-A Lakeland). Marte has won his last two starts against Reading and Harrisburg. In his last start on August 6, he went six innings, allowing three runs on four hits with two walks and a season-high seven strikeouts. The six innings was the deepest Marte has worked in a game since returning from the disabled list on July 21...Lefty Kyle Aselton takes the mound for the Rock Cats making his 34th appearance and 10th start. Aselton took a no-decision in his last outing against New Hampshire going 3.2 innings, allowing four runs, three earned, on five hits with five walks and two strikeouts. In nine starts this season, Aselton is 2-5 with a 5.66 ERA...The ‘Wolves are in a stretch of 12 straight games against Northern Division opponents with six against New Britain and six against Connecticut.
