The SeaWolves struck first in the bottom of the first inning against New Britain starter Kyle Aselton. Will Rhymes led off and laced a double down the right field line. Casper Wells followed with this fifth triple of the season, scoring Rhymes for a 1-0 lead. Wilkin Ramirez bounced a single up the middle, scoring Wells for a 2-0 Erie lead.
The Rock Cats made it a one-run game in the top of the third when Rodolfo Palacios connected on his first home run of the season against Erie starter Luis Marte to make it 2-1.
The âWolves then exploded for five runs in the bottom of the third, knocking Aselton out of the game after three innings of work. Rhymes led off with a single and got to second on a wild pitch. Wells then walked and Ramirez singled to load the bases for Ryan Roberson. Roberson connected on a sacrifice fly to center, scoring Rhymes, putting Erie back ahead by two at 3-1. Jeff Frazier followed with his second hit of the game, an RBI double, scoring Wells for a 4-1 lead and putting runners on second and third. After a Deik Scram groundout with the infield drawn in, Santo De Leon doubled off the wall in left-center, scoring both Ramirez and Frazier for a 6-1 lead. Erie capped off the five-run inning when James Skelton singled home De Leon for a 7-1 advantage.
The Cats got one back in the top of the fourth. Dustin Martin led off with a double and was brought home on a two-out single by Matt Moses to make it 7-2.

Erie responded in the last of the sixth, putting the game out of reach. With two outs, Wells walked and Ramirez singled putting runners on the corners for Roberson. Roberson singled home Wells for an 8-3 lead. Frazier followed with his third hit of the night, an RBI single, scoring Ramirez for a 9-3 lead.
