ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...

Tonight, the SeaWolves open a seven-game homestand a three-game series against the Akron Aeros (Cleveland Indians) at Jerry Uht Park. The ‘Wolves and Harrisburg Senators were postponed due to rain on Thursday and no makeup date has been set. Erie finished the road trip 3-3, splitting both the Akron and Harrisburg series (2-2 and 1-1). The SeaWolves and Aeros are the top two clubs in the Eastern League. Akron holds the top record in the league at 32-12 while Erie is six games behind the Aeros at 26-19. Erie still holds a one-game advantage over third place Reading in the EL South. Akron is 5-5 in its last 10 while Erie is 4-6...The SeaWolves the best home winning percentage in the league at .695. Erie's 16 home wins in second-most in the league...Righty Alfredo Figaro takes the mound tonight for the Howlers, making his eighth start of the season and second against the Aeros. Figaro took a no-decision in his last outing against Akron going five innings, allowing five runs on eight hits with a walk and two strikeouts. He left the game leading but Erie could not hold on to a one-run lead...Righty Josh Tomlin takes the mound for Akron. Tomlin makes his ninth start of the season and first against the SeaWolves. In his last outing, Erie snapped Tomlin's three-game winning streak. He allowed six runs, four earned, on seven hits with a walk and five strikeouts in four innings of work. Prior to that start, Tomlin was 5-0 with a no-decision in his last six starts...Erie first baseman Ryan Strieby is out of the lineup tonight and is listed as day-to-day with left wrist soreness. Strieby is not expected to miss an extended period of time.
