Erie SeaWolves News Release
ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...
Tonight, the SeaWolves look to snap a five-game losing skid as they take the field in the middle game of a three-game set at First Energy Stadium against the Reading Phillies. The âWolves have dropped eight of their last nine games and are 2-8 in the last 10. Last night's 6-3 loss to Reading put the âWolves a season-worst 17 games under .500 and 20 games behind first place Akron. The five-game losing skid for the âWolves is the second longest of the season. Erie lost 12-straight May 5-17...The R-Phils got out of the Southern Division basement with last night's win and they are in a fourth place tie with Altoona, 19 games out of first. Reading is 6-4 in the last 10...Lefty Juan Cedeno makes a spot start for the âWolves tonight. It will be his second start of the season and his first since April 11. Cedeno has been one of the most consistent relievers for the SeaWolves over the last two months. He has allowed just three earned runs in 17 appearances since being recalled from Class-A Lakeland on May 7. Cedeno has not allowed a run in his last 12 outings (0 ER/14.2 IP). In his most recent outing against Bowie on July 4, Cedeno held the Baysox scoreless for four innings, allowing two hits with a walk and a season-high five strikeouts...RHP Tyson Brummett takes the mound for the Phillies, making his fifth start since reaching Double-A. Brummett has dropped his last two outings. In his last start vs. Portland, Brummett went seven innings, allowing two runs on five hits with four walks and six strikeouts.
