Street Sweepers...After taking three of four in Erie to start their eight-game trip, the Aeros rolled through Binghamton, sweeping a four-game series from the Mets by a combined score of 31-16. RHP Kevin Dixon worked into the eighth inning in Monday afternoon's 4-2 win, pushing the Aeros to a season-high 23 games over .500 at 56-33. Dixon was terrific, surrendering just an RBI groundout in the first and a Caleb Stewart RBI double in the fourth. The bats tied the game at 2-2 in the fifth on an RBI single by SS Brandon Pinckney and a sacrifice fly by CF Bronson Sardinha. In the sixth inning, red-hot C Wyatt Toregas connected on a two-run home run to give Akron the lead, which Dixon and RHP Luis Perdomo would hold. With a runner at first and one down in the eighth, Perdomo got Fernando Martinez to ground into a 4-3 double play, and then proceeded to strike out the 3-4-5 hitters in the Binghamton order to end the game for his first save with Akron.

Toregas on a Tear...The day he was named the Eastern League's Player of the Week, Akron C Wyatt Toregas pounded a sixth-inning, two-run homer to provide the difference in Monday's 4-2 win. The Virginia Tech standout hit .409 (9-22) on the road trip and all nine of his hits went for extra bases. He knocked six home runs (including a franchise record-tying three in Erie on Wednesday) and three doubles on the trip, and collected a whopping 15 RBI in the seven games he played. His nine home runs between Class AAA Buffalo and Akron are already a career-high for the Fairfax, VA native.
