Harrisburg Senators News Release

Harrisburg, PA - RHP Jordan Zimmermann won his second straight start, Leonard Davis homered in a four-hit game and Garrett Guzman clubbed a three-run homer against his old team as the Harrisburg Senators pounded the New Britain Rock Cats, 9-0, Wednesday at Commerce Bank Park.

The Senators struck early and often, putting the leadoff man on base in each of the first five innings. Johnny Estrada lined an RBI single in the bottom of the 1st to put Harrisburg 1-0. In the 2nd, Guzman drilled a two-out, three-run homer down the right-field line to extend the advantage to 4-0.

In the bottom of the 3rd, Bill Rhinehart drew a leadoff walk, moved to second on a wild pitch and scored on an RBI single by Luis Jimenez to make it 5-0.

It was more Senators in the 5th. Rhinehart blooped a leadoff single, went to second when Edgardo Baez reached on an error and Jimenez's single loaded the bases with nobody out. After a strikeout, Matt Rogelstad lifted a sacrifice fly to left to make it a 6-0 margin.

RHP Jordan Zimmermann took it from there, firing seven shutout innings. He scattered six hits, walked a batter and struck out five.

Davis put the exclamation point on the night with a three-run missile to right-center in the bottom of the 8th to blow it open to 9-0. It finished a 4-for-5 night for Davis.

Zimmermann picked up the win to move to 4-2. RHP Jeff Manship took the loss to fall to 1-3.

The Senators improved to 50-40. The Rock Cats dropped to 37-53.

The Senators and Rock Cats finish their three-game series Thursday at Commerce Bank Park. RHP Adrian Alaniz (0-1, 4.18 ERA) starts for Harrisburg against New Britain RHP Jay Rainville (5-7, 6.88 ERA).
