Tonight, the SeaWolves hit the road for a brief, four-game trip as they take on the Akron Aeros (Cleveland Indians) in the first of a four-game series at Canal Park. The SeaWolves dropped the series finale to Richmond on Wednesday afternoon and dropped back to eight games below .500. The SeaWolves have struggled throughout the month of July, winning back-to-back games just once in the month. Erie has struggled at Canal Park over the last three seasons. Since 2009, the SeaWolves are 4-23 in their last 27 games in Akron and have not won more than two games in Akron since 2008. Erie is 1-3 at Canal Park this season...Lefty Casey Crosby makes his 18th start of the season and fourth against the Aeros. He is 0-2 with a no-decision in his previous three starts against the Aeros. Crosby has not made it past the fourth inning in each of his last two starts against the Aeros. Crosby took his fourth loss in his last start against Akron on July 23. In the game, he allowed seven runs four earned, on nine hits with three walks and five strikeouts in 3.2 innings. Erie lost the game 7-1...RHP Austin Adams takes the mound for the Aeros making his 20th start and fourth against the SeaWolves. Three of Adams last four starts have been against the 'Wolves. He beat the SeaWolves in his last start on July 23. In the game, Adams allowed a run on five hits with four walks and two strikeouts in six innings of work. He is 1-1 with a no-decision against Erie...The SeaWolves have dropped six of their last eight against Akron.
