KING OF THE ROAD: First baseman Wes Hodges went 3-for-4 last night with a double, RBI, and a run scored...The 26-year-old is batting .377 (26-for-69) in 17 games on the road...All six of his home runs have been hit on the road and 14 of his 23 RBIs have come on the road...He is hitting .229 (61-for-70) with six doubles and a triple in 22 games at The Diamond...Over his last 13 games, Hodges is batting .417 (20-for-48) with four doubles, three home runs, nine RBIs, and nine runs scored.

THE INSIDE SCHOOP: Since shortstop Nick Noonan was promoted to Triple-A Fresno 7/18, infielder Sharlon Schoop is 13-for-35 (.371) at the plate over his last 12 games including a season-high three hits 7/19 as well as two home runs, eight RBIs, and seven runs scored.

CHARLIE HORSE: Second baseman Charlie Culberson has been held hitless over his last five games, going 0-for-16 over that stretch with six strikeouts and no walks...He has reached base safely twice in his last five games, getting hit by a pitch twice 7/26 at Erie...The 22-year-old has seen his average dip from .278 to .267 over that span.

PITCHING IN: The Flying Squirrels pitching staff leads the Eastern League with a 3.26 ERA through 104 games and has allowed a league-low 388 runs, the only club to have allowed fewer than 400 runs...Richmond's pitching staff has allowed two runs or less in 41 of its 104 games (39%)...Starting pitching has allowed three runs or less in 74 of the team's 104 games (71%) and the club is 51-23 in those contests.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN: The Flying Squirrels are in the middle of a stretch where they are playing 14 of 20 games on the road...Overall, the club is 20-29 on the road, and is batting .219 and averaging 3.45 runs per game (169R/49G) in 49 road contests...The club is 37-18 overall at home - the second-best home record in the league - and is batting .263 in 55 games at The Diamond while averaging 4.56 runs per game at home (251R/55G).
