
Eight Nets Score in Double Figures to Strike Ignite

LONG ISLAND - The Long Island Nets (12-11), the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, defeated NBA G League Ignite (2-26), 132-105, on Tuesday evening at Nassau Coliseum.
Eight Nets scored in double figures, including center Patrick Gardner, who posted a double-double and a career-high 21 points and 12 rebounds to go along with one assist and one steal in 23 minutes. Forward Kaiser Gates recorded 20 points, seven rebounds, one assist and one block in 17 minutes. Forward Jordan Hall tallied 17 points, seven rebounds, four assists and one steal in 23 minutes. Guard Kyler Edwards added 16 points, three rebounds, one assist and two steals in 27 minutes. Brooklyn two-way guard Keon Johnson posted 13 points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal in 24 minutes. Brooklyn two-way guard Jacob Gilyard recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 assists in 28 minutes. Center David Muoka and guard Nate Pierre-Louis tallied 10 points each in 24 and 17 minutes, respectively.
Long Island jumped out to a quick start, leading by as many as 16 points in the first quarter on 63.0 percent shooting from the field. The Nets closed the period ahead by 14, 37-23. The two teams went back-and-forth in the second quarter, scoring an even 32 points each. Despite Ignite's efforts, Long Island maintained its lead and closed the first half ahead by 14, 69-55.
The Nets carried their momentum into the third quarter, shooting 50.0 percent from the field and 54.5 percent from behind the arc. Long Island went into the final quarter ahead by 25, 106-81. Ignite battled hard in the fourth quarter, but the Nets kept their foot on the gas. Long Island went on to defeat Ignite by 27, 132-105.
Ignite guard Gabe York posted 19 points, four rebounds, two assists and one steal in 20 minutes. Ignite forward Tyler Smith recorded 16 points, three rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 19 minutes.
Long Island will face Westchester at home on Wednesday, March 6, at 7 p.m. ET, while Ignite will travel to face Santa Cruz on Friday, March 15, at 10 p.m. PT.
