PAPILLION, Neb. - Griffin Conine reached base three times, including an RBI double on Friday, but the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp could not escape an early deficit in a 6-4 loss to the Omaha Storm Chasers at Werner Park.

The Storm Chasers (22-12) blitzed Jumbo Shrimp (17-20) starter Max Meyer (0-3) from the beginning of the contest. John Rave led off with a double and scored on an error. After a walk, Meyer retired the next two batters before walking Devin Mann. Tyler Gentry made him pay with a two-run single to make it 3-0.

Cam Devanney drew a leadoff walk in the second before advancing to second on a wild pitch. After two outs, Nick Loftin singled him in for a four-run lead.

Omaha added to the advantage in the fourth. With one out, Loftin doubled and Nick Pratto singled. Logan Porter followed by knocking in a run with a base hit and Mann doubled in Pratto to put the margin at 6-0.

Jacksonville was able to get back in the game, beginning in the fifth inning. Storm Chasers starter Jonathan Bowlan (5-1) issued a leadoff walk to Conine. After a fielder's choice, Jonathan Guzman earned a free pass. Victor Mesa Jr. cashed in both runners with a double before scoring on Javier Sanoja's base hit to halve the lead.

With the same score in the eighth, Jonah Bride and Tristan Gray jumpstarted the inning with walks. A double play moved Bride to second, and he scored on a Conine RBI double to make it 6-4.

In the ninth, Jacksonville got the go-ahead run to the plate, but Will Klein struck out Bride to earn his sixth save.

Jacksonville and Omaha play again in Saturday's 8:05 p.m. ET contest. RHP Yonny Chirinos (3-3, 3.35 ERA) starts for the Jumbo Shrimp. Coverage begins at 7:50 p.m. ET on ESPN 690 AM and www.ESPN690.com.
