
Eagles Victorious over Aces 3-2 on Fan Appreciation Night

LOVELAND, Colo. - After a 2-0 deficit early in the second period the Eagles rallied to score three unanswered and push the Colorado Eagles (33-26-7-5) past the Alaska Aces (45-19-3-4), 3-2, on Fan Appreciation Night at the Budweiser Events Center.
Just under five minutes into the first frame Alaska forward Andy Taranto beat Eagles netminder Dustin Butler blocker-side to give the Aces the early 1-0 lead.
In the first two minutes of the second period, Aces forward Peter Sivak spun around in the left circle and buried the puck in the net to extend Alaska's lead to 2-0. With 6:05 left in the second, Eagles defenseman Daniel Johnston netted a power-play goal to cut the Aces lead in half, 2-1. Less than one minute later Eagles veteran defenseman Jason Beatty drove the puck home from the high slot to tie the game at 2-2.
With only :31 left in the third stanza Eagles forward Alex Hudson stuffed home a shot from defenseman Braden Birch to give the Eagles their first lead of the game, 3-2. Butler turned aside 14 of the 16 shots thrown on him by the Aces to help Colorado secure the 3-2 win.
