Kalamazoo Wings News Release

Tonight, the curtain will drop on the regular season for both the Kalamazoo Wings and Evansville IceMen. Tonight is just the fourth meeting of the season between the teams and the first for Evansville at Wings Stadium since October 26th, when Kalamazoo hosted them in their home opener.

The K-Wings are trying to close in on their fourth North Division crown in the past five seasons. Kalamazoo's magic number is down to one point. In fact, a K-Wings victory this evening would not only sew up the division title, but it would place Kalamazoo as the second seed in the Eastern Conference.

Tonight is the final game of an eight-game road swing for the IceMen, who are 1-5-1-0 during the trip. Evansville heads into Wings Stadium looking for the season sweep against Kalamazoo. The IceMen (3-0-0-0) are the only North Division team with a winning record against the K-Wings.

Home Cooking

Forwards Matt Caria and Justin Taylor enter this evening looking to extend streaks. Caria is on an ECHL season-high 19-game home point streak, while Taylor is on a 15-game home point streak.

Nearing a Milestone

Forward David Pacan is closing in on a personal milestone. Pacan needs two points to reach 100 in his career.

Magic Number

The K-Wings need one point to clinch home ice in the first round of the playoffs and the North Division crown. The point can be any combination of a Kalamazoo victory, overtime loss, shootout loss or a regulation or overtime/shootout loss by Cincinnati; home ice can also be clinched by a regulation or overtime/shootout loss by Orlando.

Working Overtime

Kalamazoo's last two games have been overtime time victories. The K-Wings are 8-2 in OT games, with eight game-winners coming off the sticks of eight different players.
