Kalamazoo, MI- Following the Kalamazoo Wings final game of the regular season Saturday night, the K-Wings handed out their annual team awards.
The following were the awards and the recipients of the K-Wings Awards Ceremony:
Booster Club Appreciation Award (Most PR Appearances): Elgin Reid
KOHA Plus/Minus Award David Pacan
Otten Trophies Star of the Game Award: Sam Ftorek
Omni Source Leading Scorer Award: Matt Caria
Meijer Most Improved Player Award: Yannick Veilleux
Pepsi Sportsmanship Award: Sam Ftorek
Kalsee Credit Union Unsung Hero Award: Ryan Del Monte
Harold Zeigler Automotive Group Defenseman of the Year Award: Elgin Reid
Consumers Credit Union Rookie of the Year Award: Jordan Binnington
WZUU Most Popular Player Award: Justin Taylor Kalamazoo Gazette/ MLive MVP Award: Elgin Reid
The K-Wings will commence the 2014 Kelly Cup Playoffs with Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals on Friday, April 18 with a 7:30 p.m. face-off at Wings Stadium. Game 2 is slated for Saturday, April 19 th, also at Wings Stadium. The K-Wings will announce the full postseason schedule and opponent when they are finalized.
Tickets for all K-Wings home playoff games are currently on sale at the Wings Stadium Ticket Office, all Ticketmaster locations, including www.ticketmaster.com or by calling (800) 745-3000. Ticket office hours are Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturdays.
Thanks to Pepsi, the first 2,500 fans that purchase tickets specifically for game one of round one will enjoy a special $4 ticket price. These special $4 tickets for game one are part of the team's 2013-14 season long 40th Anniversary celebration and reflect ticket prices from the K-Wings Inaugural 1974-75 season.
Regular pricing for all other K-Wings Pepsi Playoff games are $17 and $20 for adults and only $8 for children 12 and under. Also, courtesy of Pepsi, the team is offering special $10 tickets for groups of 15 or more throughout the playoffs.
