Kalamazoo, MI - Entering Saturday night needing only a point to clinch their fourth North Division title in the past five seasons the Kalamazoo Wings did exactly that with a 3-2 overtime loss to the Evansville IceMen.

Connecting on their first power-play of the night, Ludwig Blomstrand (14th) one timed a David Pacan pass to put the K-Wings ahead midway into the opening period.

The IceMen showed their resiliency in the second period when they shifted the momentum with an equalizing tally from Kellan Tochkin (11th) 6:45 into the stanza.

Kalamazoo bounced back quickly in the third. Scoring just 58 seconds into the stanza, Ben Wilson put the K-Wings back into the driver's seat by netting his second goal of the season.

However, Evansville kept battling back. The IceMen knotted the game back up at 2-2 when Kevin Lynch (13th) found the back of the net past a sprawled out Jordan Binnington.

For the third straight K-Wings game the outcome would be decided in overtime. Unlike the previous two contests, the K-Wings were on the wrong end of the score, as Alex Aleardi (14th) scored the game-winner with five seconds remaining in the extra session.
