Eagles, Bowman Complete OT Comeback vs. Reign, 3-2

LOVELAND, Colo. -The Colorado Eagles (32-14-0-2) rallied behind their top scorers to take down the Ontario Reign (27-13-3-4) on Sunday afternoon at the Budweiser Events Center. With the win, the Eagles now lead the Ontario Reign by five points and the Idaho Steelheads by six points for the top spot in the Pacific Division.

After a scoreless first period, Eagles forward Kyle Kraemer sniped a Trent Daavettila pass behind Ontario goalie Spencer McLay on a 5-on-3 power play, giving Colorado a 1-0 lead with 11:12 remaining in the second frame. 3:55 later, Reign forward Matt White took advantage of an Eagles turnover in front of the net, beating Eagles netminder Clarke Saunders low glove side, tying the game 1-1. With 2:49 remaining in the period, Ontario forward Tristan King came streaking across the slot and fired a wrist shot over Saunders' glove to give the Reign their first lead of the game, 2-1.

The Eagles found themselves on the power play with 2:06 left in the game when Daavettila buried a rebound home past McLay to tie the game 2-2 and send it into overtime for the second night in a row.

Colorado went on their sixth power play of the night 1:20 into the overtime period when Eagles defenseman Collin Bowman hammered his sixth game-winning goal of the season to give the Eagles the 3-2 victory. Bowman's goal was his third overtime winner of the season, and the Eagles fifth overtime victory this year.
