Game Preview

This afternoon will be the second ever meeting between the Kalamazoo Wings and the Indy Fuel. It was three and half months ago the last time the teams met. Kalamazoo won the inaugural encounter with a 5-4 overtime victory at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum.

Today is the second game of a season-long five-game road swing for the K-Wings. Kalamazoo began the trip last night with a 4-2 loss to the Fort Wayne Komets. With 44 points, the K-Wings are in fourth place in the North Division, two points behind the Cincinnati Cyclones for third.

No team in the ECHL has been playing better hockey than the Indy Fuel. The Fuel, who is on a three-game winning streak, is 10-1-0-0 in their last 11 games. With 41 points, the Fuel is one point behind the Wheeling Nailers for fifth place in the North Division and three points behind the K-Wings.

Forward Eric Kattelus is riding a five-game point streak. Kattelus, who leads the team in scoring with 33 points, has recorded points in 14 out of his last 15 games.

Burning Up

Besides Kattelus, two other members of the K-Wings begin the night on impressive point streaks. Forward Matt Caria is on a seven-game point streak, while defenseman Sam Ftorek has points in four straight games.

Out of the Gates

Last night Dane Fox scored 38 seconds into the game. The goal was the quickest goal scored to start a game this season for the K-Wings.

Back Stop

Goaltender Joel Martin has made plenty of saves this week. In the K-Wings three previous contests, Martin has made 110 saves.

Good Things Come in Threes

Indy's Justin Holl has been racking up points. Holl starts the day on a three-game point streak.

Staying Out of the Box

The Fuel hasn't spent much time this season in the penalty box. Averaging 13.96 minutes in penalties per game, Indy is fourth least penalized team in the entire ECHL.

Heating Up

Indy starts the day on a three-game winning streak. The Fuel have been scorching hot going 10-1-0-0 in their last 11 games and they have earned points in 12 out of their last 13 contests (11-1-1-0)

Mac Daddy

Fuel goaltender Mac Carruth has been tough to beat. Carruth has earned victories in his last eight appearances.
