Dragons Fall 2-1 in First Game of DH

Bowling Green, Ky.-Bowling Green's Brandon Martin delivered a two-out, two-run single in the fourth inning to bring in his team's only runs as Hot Rods edged the Dayton Dragons 2-1 in the first game of a doubleheader on Wednesday. The Dragons dropped to 5-8 in the second half with the loss while Bowling Green improved to 9-4.

The Dragons got their only run in the third when they took a 1-0 lead. Joe Hudson doubled down the left field line to start the inning, went to third on a sacrifice by Humberto Valor, and scored on Beau Amaral's RBI ground out to first base.

The Dragons collected just four hits. Hudson and Daniel Pigott had doubles.

Game two will begin at about 8:20 EDT.
