Dragons Add Pitcher Josh Smith from Billings

Dayton, Ohio-The Dayton Dragons announced the following roster move today:

Right-handed pitcher Josh Smith has been promoted to Dayton from Billings of the Pioneer League.

The Dragons roster stands at the Midwest League limit of 25 players.

A new roster is attached.

Smith appeared in 12 games out of the bullpen at Billings, going 1-2 with a 2.14 earned run average. In 21 innings, he allowed 16 hits with 10 walks and 28 strikeouts.

Smith was the Reds 21st round draft pick in 2010 out of Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. Playing in the Atlantic Sun Conference, Smith posted a record of 8-4 with a 4.66 earned run average. He made 14 starts and struck out 124 batters in 104 innings.

The Dragons host the Lansing Lugnuts at Fifth Third Field at 7:00 p.m. (1410 WING; www.daytondragons.com). This is game one of a three-game series.
