Today's Game: The Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) host the Lugnuts (affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays) in the first game of a three-game set.

Last Game: Dayton lost to West Michigan 9-2 as the Whitecaps completed a sweep of the four-game series. West Michigan jumped out to a 6-1 lead over the first four innings and cruised to their sixth straight win. Michael Rockett led a 17-hit attack with three hits including two doubles and two RBI. The Dragons finished with just four hits. Ryan LaMarre had a double to extend his hitting streak to 10 straight games.
Today's Starting Pitcher: Jacob Johnson makes his 21st start of the season tonight. His last start came on Friday at Lake County when he picked up the victory (6.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 6 SO). Johnson over his last four starts: 2-0, 25.1 IP, 3 ER, 1.07 ERA. Johnson since May 26: 6-2, 3.12 ERA. Johnson was the Dragons Pitcher of the Month in June (3-0, 2.14 in four starts). He is a 19-year-old native of Lake Worth, Florida. He was drafted by the Reds in the 11th round in 2009 out of Trinity Christian Academy. Johnson finished fifth in the 2009 Florida Mr. Baseball voting. He was named the Florida Class 1A Co-Player of the Year and a 1st Team All-State selection in '09. Johnson had committed to Wake Forest before signing with Reds. He played with the GCL Reds in 2009 (2-3, 2.83 ERA).

* Mark Fleury is batting .324 over his last 31 games. He batted .352 in July to tie for eighth in the league. He is batting .308 in the second half to rank second on the club.
