Lansing Lugnuts Make Roster Moves

LANSING, Mich. - The Lansing Lugnuts, in conjunction with the Toronto Blue Jays, announced a sextet of moves on Wednesday: second baseman Ryan Schimpf has been promoted to Dunedin (A-Advanced, Florida State League); catcher A.J. Jimenez and right-hander Ryan Tepera have both been placed on the 7-day Disabled List retroactive to August 9th; infielder K.C. Hobson has been transferred to Lansing from the GCL Blue Jays' roster (Rookie level, Gulf Coast League); infielder Jon Del Campo has been transferred to Lansing from Dunedin; and right-hander Drew Hutchison has been transferred to Lansing from Auburn (Short-A, New York-Penn League).

The moves leave the Lugnuts roster with 25 active players and six players on the DL. An official roster is attached.

The 20-year-old Hutchison will serve as the Lugnuts' starting pitcher tonight in the opener of a three-game series at Dayton.

Lansing (21-23) is currently in the second and final playoff spot in the Eastern Division, one game above West Michigan and Bowling Green. 26 games remain in the second half of the Midwest League season.
